Retainer/Static Shield

This portion of the switch is a sheet of polyester used to keep the stainless steel tactile domes from shifting. If necessary for your application, the top surface of this layer of the switch can have conductive ink added to it to create an EMI/RFI shielding layer. If printed conductive ink will not be a cost effective shielding material we have available a specialty shielding material which offers the same performance at a reduced cost.

This portion of the switch is strictly utilitarian and mechanical in nature. The visual appeal of the switch is not affected in any way by this layer.
